Postdoctoral Orientation to Career Development

A Postdoctoral Orientation to Career Development Seminar is held monthly so that new trainees can participate within the first 30 days of their appointments. The objectives of this 90 minute program are to:

  • Highlight the importance of career planning and professional development
  • Introduce career development programs and resources
  • Provide a framework for career development
  • Facilitate networking with members of the University of Pittsburgh Postdoctoral Association

Postdocs in the Schools of the Health Sciences

Postdocs appointed in any of the six schools of the health sciences (Dental Medicine, Health and Rehabilitation, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health) are required to attend an Orientation Seminar within the first three months of their appointments. If this applies to you, details are included in your appointment letter. You will be contacted by email and provided registration instructions.

All Other Postdocs

This Orientation to Career Development Seminar is optional for postdoctoral trainees appointed in all other schools; however, as a new member of our postdoctoral community, it is highly recommended that you take advantage of this resource.
