Andrea M. Ketchum, MS, MLIS is a Research and Instruction Librarian and the Scholarly Communication Liaison for the
University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System (HSLS), with a secondary
appointment as Faculty Librarian at Pitt’s Clinical and Translational Science
Institute (CTSI). She teaches scholarly communication and data management and is
a faculty member of the HSLS Systematic Review Workshop. As such, she presents classes
and workshops on all aspects of academic publishing, research, research
metrics, and public access management, often bridging the communication gaps
between awardees and the NIH. She is currently co-chairing a new committee for
the national Medical Library Association with support from the National Library
of Medicine to update the MEDLINE Core Clinical Journals filter in PubMed. Her
academic background is in Medical Informatics and Health Information Systems. She has served at HSLS since 2002.
