Women Physician Scientist Seminar Series
Promoting the Scientific Careers of
Women in Academic Medicine
Of significant concern to premier academic medical centers
is
the need to recruit, develop, and retain talented women
in
faculty positions. In response to this need, this seminar
series has been designed to increase the exposure of
junior women faculty and clinician trainees to role models external
to the University who have successfully
incorporated a research component in their academic career.
This program has two components:
A formal, open
scientific lecture co-sponsored by an academic department; and
an informal breakfast or luncheon reception specifically for
women at which guest speakers share their career development
experiences and perspectives
