Are you a faculty member or graduate student who wants to learn the basics of taking a research discovery from the lab to the marketplace? The Innovation Institute offers a course to help you grasp the fundamentals.

Benchtop to Bedside, known as B2B, touches on many of the themes of C2C, with an emphasis on the particular challenges inherent in commercializing life science and biotech discoveries. The course consists of a series of seminars to identify the steps necessary to move a scientific or clinical discovery from the laboratory to the patient. How to Apply

This seminar is FREE; however, enrollment is limited to 40 participants. Priority admission is based on number of years in training. This seminar involves a formal commitment and pre-work assignment in order to attend.

Requirement 1: Letter of Support

You must provide a letter of support from your PI that indicates his or her support of your career and provides permission for you to attend this half-day seminar.

Requirement 2: Pre-Work Assignment

In order to reach the highest level of effectiveness in the shortest amount of time, you will prepare a three- to five-minute presentation (no more than five PowerPoint slides) of your scientific work prior to the course.

Your presentation will answer:

1.      Who am I?
2.      What do I do?
3.      What is my current research focus?
4.      Where am I currently in my research?
5.      What direction do I hope to take in my research?
